Beside the Door Bypass
- This method is typically used to bypass doors with certain types of electronic locks, particularly those that use a request-to-exit (REX) sensor. The REX sensor is designed to unlock the door when it detects someone on the inside of the door wanting to exit.
- An intruder might use a thin, flexible tool to reach the REX sensor from the outside of the door. By inserting the tool between the door and the frame, they can trigger the sensor and unlock the door.
Tools
- Wire or Rod: A thin, flexible wire or rod can be used to reach the REX sensor. It might need to be bent into a specific shape to effectively trigger the sensor.
- Air Wedge: An air wedge is a tool that can be inserted into the gap between the door and the frame and then inflated to create more space. This can make it easier to insert other tools and reach the REX sensor.
- Borescope: A borescope is a tool with a small camera on the end that can be inserted into small spaces. It can be used to view the inside of the door and locate the REX sensor.
Please note that using these tools and methods without proper authorization is illegal. Regular security audits and updates to security systems can help prevent unauthorized bypassing.
